Progressive Contracting Company, Inc. (PCCI) is providing the renovation of this existing structure into a museum on the lower level and a theater on the second floor. The project includes a 3,000 square foot addition to the existing building to incorporate the emergency stair systems, elevator, and restrooms. The construction of this project was confined to a small site with numerous construction projects on-going immediately next to our site. The scope of work for this project includes the following:

complete interior demolition of all existing finishes
all new plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems
coordination of the sound, lighting, and fixture packages
all new finishes throughout including clear finished millwork panels for the first floor art gallery space.

In 2008, PCCI was awarded the Anthemion Award for the adaptive re-use of the Apex Cultural Arts Center. This award is to recognize outstanding dedication and commitment to excellence in historic preservation in Wake County, NC.  (see award write-up for the preservation matters on second page of the printer friendly version above).
