The James Polk birthplace consists of two white oak log cabins dating to the 1840s. Progressive Contracting Company, Inc. (PCCI) was directed to remove the chinking from one of the cabins, complete repairs to rot in the logs, repair stone piers, and to rechink utilizing chinking formulas established by the National Park Service.
